About the Course
The issue of trauma has infiltrated all socioeconomic, ethnic, cultural, and religious groups. Therefore, trauma impacts all of us either directly or indirectly.
This trauma-informed course describes how to access and know what it means to provide trauma-informed services. This course demonstrates the importance of being sensitive to the experience of trauma and the impacts of trauma. This course teaches and practices techniques through role-playing, the interactions with trauma-involved individuals in care that are supportive, affirming, and avoiding retraumatizing of those who are especially vulnerable. This course is aimed to help students gain an understanding of trauma, its impacts, and the fundamental components of a trauma-informed approach to care. Through interactive instructional activities, students will develop practical tools for communicating effectively and learn how to implement trauma-informed practices into their workspace. Students must attend the entire duration to receive the certification.
